This workshop is aimed to promote discussions on the physics and the chemistry of outgassing processes (i.e., the removal of volatiles) in various domains, including planetary, material or technological sciences.
Outgassing processes have indeed a pivotal role in the budget of volatiles elements of planetary systems and their redox conditions, as well as in the development and maintenance of terrestrial planet atmospheres. By controlling the rheological and physicochemical properties, outgassing processes are also keys in a number of industry dealing with ceramic/composite materials, alloys/cast irons, glasses or liquid foods.
This workshop will present an overview of the fundamental physicochemical processes behind the nucleation and degassing, their thermodynamic and kinetic aspects. Gas chemistry from different settings will be also depicted through various analytical techniques.
In order to trigger off as much as possible exchanges and discussions and to foster possible collaborations, the workshop will gather a restricted number of invited colleagues from different fields (60 max).
There is no inscription fees for the workshop.

For the time of the workshop, the town hall of Villefranche puts at our disposal the room of the Auditorium (see attached) in which will be held the talks and the conference general public. The auditorium is sound and is equipped with wifi. Coffee breaks will be taken in the patio outside. |
